Free Hours Worked Calculator: Weekly Timesheet and Pay

Adding up shifts like 9:00 to 5:30 minus a 30-minute break gets messy fast. Enter start and end times and unpaid break minutes for each day, and this totals the week in hours and minutes and in decimal hours (what you multiply by an hourly rate).

It runs in your browser. Nothing you type is saved or sent anywhere. The times filled in below are a made-up example; change them to yours. Leave a day blank if you didn't work. A shift that ends past midnight counts into the next morning.

How the math works

Example (made up): 9:00 to 5:30 with a 30-minute break, Monday to Thursday, is 8 hours a day, 32 hours. Friday 9:00 to 1:45 with no break is 4:45, or 4.75 hours. The week is 36:45, or 36.75 hours; at $25 an hour that's $918.75.

Overtime rules depend on whether you're an employee and on federal and state law; freelancers and contractors usually bill straight hours. This is an estimate, not legal or payroll advice.

Turn hours into invoices

The Freelancer Invoice Tracker ($9) is a printable invoice plus a client and payment tracker in one spreadsheet: the invoice log marks each invoice Paid, Open or Overdue with days late and totals what each client has paid. It doesn't send invoices or take payments. Works in Excel and Google Sheets.

This template is also in the Self-Employed & Small Business Bundle (what's inside): all 9 business tools for $29 (about $80 if bought one by one).

We make this template, so take that into account. The calculator above is free to use either way.
